Rantings Of A Music Major

So…I don’t know about the rest of you music majors but the one thing in my week that I put off over and over to the point of it not getting done is sight singing. 

(For the record I have a 4.0…but skills lab III is going to get tough if I can’t keep up with the sight singing)

So my friend and I started a rewards system…it works like this:

My friend is really fond of desserts…she has one almost everyday. So she turned that into her reward. If she has a cookie after dinner…she does ten minutes of sight singing (the larger the treat…the more sight singing you should do) Then, when she sits down to start her sight singing she doesn’t put it off because she remembers that she had a delicious treat earlier and so sight singing is a simple price to pay!

I am rather fond of coffee…so I use that as my treat…If I want to have coffee today I will do two sight singing exercises.

Obviously you can apply this to many other things but I just thought I would throw it out there :)

……………..um yeah. Sometimes I am in this mindset

are the most beautiful human being I have ever known. You are so loving, despite any hurt you have gone through in the past. 

I’m terrified. Truly. I have never been cared about in this way before.Never had someone give back as much as I give and then some. It was so unexpected. 

I don’t know where you came from, or how you entered my life. But I am truly amazed that this is happening. 

I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of this plays out…but so far its wonderful.

(yeah…it was sappy tumblr ranting time)

This is tough…Since I live in Denver, I don’t see shows on Broadway…I see a ton of touring casts and things like that.  Even when shows on Broadway close…I can still see tours of it in Denver….so that being said. I really can’t say because shows don’t run here like they do on Broadway.

In that case they are all too short! Shows only come here for a couple weeks AT MOST. They are usually only here for 2 or 3 days.

(By the way, I’m not complaining…Denver is incredible…we get the very best of everything. Beautiful climate and great culture ^.^)

So Today I had a garage sale.

yes, I am aware today is not over…but smart me decided to make margarita’s while I was having a garage sale…

so now it is about 3:30 and I’m about to take a nap. Heat and Tequila don’t mix kids

That is all :)

So basically, my parents started taking me to musicals before I could walk. 

The first one I really really remember going to and REALLY enjoying (which is disturbing because I couldn’t have been more than 5) was Show Boat!

I LOVED IT! I don’t know why…because I still enjoy it now, but not nearly as much as I used to. 

True story…I’m currently writing a song based loosely off of the chord progression of Can’t Help Lovin Dat Man Of Mine.

Dear god..this is damn near impossible. So we will go with my favorite song AT THE MOMENT!

As far as lyrics go, they aren’t some of my favorites…but I absolutely love the raw power and emotion that comes through during the song…also the music is beautiful.

Plus I just really really really like belting this out in the shower :P (yes, the people that hear me do think i’m insane)
